62 years old, married, two children. Graduated from the Kharkov University in 1960, (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Department of Astronomy). Joined the staff of the Astronomical Observatory of the Kharkov University in 1960. A specialist in a great variety of problems connected with the image processing and high-resolution images, - high-resolution imaging of spacecrafts, major planets, speckle interferomery of stars, monitoring of gravitational lens systems on Maidanak. A pioneer in designing coherent optical processor and in image processing in the former USSR. Laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian Republic (1986).The author of more than 50 publications. Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics since 1986.

From 1974 till present - Head of Department of Image Processing.

From 1977 to 1993 - Director of the Astronomical Observatory of the Kharkov University.
