61 years old, married, a child. Graduated from the Kharkov University, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Department of Astronomy in 1961 and entered the staff of the Astronomical Observatory. A Ph.D. since 1970 and a laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian Republic. A specialist in applied and coherent optics, in speckle interferometry and in image processing.

· designing and creating the coherent optical processor of AO KhU; first experiments on image processing with the coherent processor;

· examining statistical characteristics of the atmosphere responsible for the image degradation;

· speckle interferometry of red giants and binaries with the 6-meter BTA telescope and speckle interferometry of asteroid 4Vesta.
