Rotational parameters of asteroids

Rotation and shapes of asteroids are fundamental characteristics related to their origin and evolution in the process of collisional interactions between them. Therefore the data on asteroid rotation, shapes and configurations (binary or other multiple systems), extracted from photometric lightcurve observations, are very important for understanding of cosmogonic problems of asteroid population and of Solar System as a whole. Besides, these data are of a great importance for development of theories of asteroid internal structure, rotation of asteroids and collisional processes among them.

A part of our observations are carried out in the frame of Photometric Survey for Asynchronous Binary Asteroids ( Photometric Survey for Asynchronous Binary Asteroids).

The list of current targets is available in the section Observations.
